JEEP XGAMES

Jeep 4xe Hybrid launch in the live X Games Metaverse.


How do you launch a vehicle, and put on the annual ESPN X Games during pandemic restrictions when all you have are vehicle blueprints? We partnered with GMR to build a low poly 3D Jeep 4xe Hybrid in an immersive gamified virtual world.

To kick things off, we created a virtual ticket where users could put their device over the QR code on the event launch banner. This opened up an immersive AR experience where users could play with the Jeep 4xe Hybrid in their environment, bringing the snowy world and spirit of Aspen, home of the Xgames into their hands.

Upon clicking on the Xfest logo within the AR experience, users could enter the virtual, gamified world, where they could customize their avatar, choose to ride a snowboard or ski, where they could feely move about and explore the fully immersive virtual space while also watching the Xgames live on the virtual stage.

To illustrate the new Jeep 4xe Hybrid’s unmatched charging capabilities, we built an experience where the user could plug in the vehicle to both the stage and the half pipe - by doing this, the Jeep 4xe “powered” the whole event.

As the games wrapped up, we couldn’t help it. We trolled Wendy’s - our Xgames partner - while highlighting the Jeep 4xe’s unique capability as the only vehicle capable of making it up the mountain.

In addition, four hours of exclusive coverage of X Games Aspen 2021 was streamed on the @XGames YouTube, Facebook and Twitter pages. Extensive coverage was also featured across XGames.com, the X Games Aspen App, @XGames on Instagram, Snapchat and more.
